And how easy it is to know this when you get pulled over by one of an Army of bike cops straddling the main roads of Sherman Oaks.
I simply turned left and *blip* *blip* was asked to pull over.
"What did I possibly do?", I asked myself.
The officer gets off his bike and this is where I see other victims of the end-of-the-month hustle. People pleading with various officers to let them be free, others screaming irate. What a scene.
My officer began his sales pitch the same as the others from what I could hear in the background. "I could hit you with exhibition of speed and a $600 fine but instead I will let you off with a fix-a-ticket. No front plate."
Well I can't argue with that obviously. First, he's right, I have no front plate nor would I want one. But considering the alternative, I'll take it. Still though there is no way a Exhibition of Speed would have held up in court. And I have some experience with this.
I signaled when I turned, I don't have tinted windows, I was wearing my seatbelt and I didn't squawk my tires when I turned. My exhaust merely rumbled a bit as I turned. But no more than is legally aloud and considering it's a large V8 engine fully expected!
We all know how loud a V8 Pony car can be, I must stress this was NOT the case here. It was a simple off idle stab at the throttle to turn left.
Anyway, beware the end of the month. It's easy to forget about. After all, it's illegal for police stations to require ticket quotas (right!). You know I wouldn't mind so much if that money actually went to fixing our shitty roads.

McLaren fans, here are some hats.
SPEEDGEAR.COM Officially Licensed Racing Products
They have all the styles of hates. Although this could all change for 2008. So not sure how relevant they could be. The Alonso gear definitely can go in the toilet.

New Logitech wheel for GT5....sort of.
Now it's not exactly what I was hoping for. I was hoping they'd dump the stand alone shifter and clutch pedal and lop off $120 to the price. Because frankly the clutch pedal is too close to the brake pedal to be useful and the shifter is way too flimsy in operation. Just stick to the flappy-paddle-gearbox. :)
Still the G25 is an amazing wheel. The feeling it gives you with it's smooth dual FFB motors, larger grip and more meaty contruction will take seconds of your lap times for sure.
GT5 will work with most current PC wheels but if it's time for an upgrade or you need to buy your first wheel. The GT25 or G25 (pc version) is the way to go.
No word yet if the GT25 will be PS3 only compatible. If it is, just buy the G25 then, since it works with the PS3. The GT25 will have the dedicated PS3 gamepad buttons on it though.

What in the world are they thinking?
SO I was reading some F-1 news today and came across this article: FIA announces new Engine freeze
How could a freeze on engine development for TEN years help anything?
On a lighter note it will be exciting to see the new Singapore night race I wonder how the drivers will do in a night race... Maybe it can rain too.. I'm sure that wouldn't cause too much of a problem.

Top Gear test track to appear in GT5!

In addition to be able to race on the same track Top Gear uses, episodes of Top Gear will be available on the new Top Gear TV Channel on the PS3 network. Which will also feature the latest news and reviews from Top Gear.
Life just got a whole lot better.

Steak sauce should be for everyone.... loud mouth bitches excluded
As you might imagine, I am not to happy with the prospect of a good racing fans unable to attend race viewings .... and Q as well. I wonder if there is something we can do to make A1 a bit easier for all of us to enjoy together, and at the same time perhaps dodge certain immature hater bitches that have obviously had their twats sewn together, filling their brain with urine... but I digress.
Whats say we get this group together and come up with some ideas to enjoy this series together the way we have enjoyed Formula 1?
Should be something we can do. Maybe it's just all in the timing. It Might getting expensive flying Shell out here every two weeks though.
Anyway, I thought I would plant that seed, then finish up with asking that lovely young lady that I met at Joxer's the other evening to shove a red hot poker in her a** and lighten up. Some people need a smack in the face even before they begin speaking. Up yours sweetheart, next time you'll be wearing that TV.
Q.... Ireland is doing a great job this year. I would go for them.
Also ....Welcome Mikey!

So we leave F1 this season and head to A1
So...who to pick?
I will also have to depend on this site for most my info as I won't be able to attend most the races this season with the rest of you. Sucks, but that looks to be the case. Sunday afternoon works but not the late night week day viewings.

A test of Hamilton's character.
This could all get very interesting if in the unlikely event the ruling goes in McLaren's favor and Hamilton is crowned. I say this because this would be a test of the man himself. Where do his morals sit?
Will he react with justification and glee? Or will he be somber and silent? Or will he reject the ruling and bow gracefully to the original race results?
All the above can be said for the ruling not going his way too, but with opposite reactions. Will he whine and complain? Or will he be fair and just?
What will you show us Hamilton?

No matter what happens with this appeal nonsense, thank you for playing, you have been properly fisted in Brazil.

Championship not yet decided?!??
Damn not more F-1 drama.. Here I thought it was over but no.
The short of it -
BMW Sauber and Williams failed post race testing? Their fuel was too cold? FIA investigated and decided to not penalize however McLaren plans to appeal that judgement. What does this mean?
4th, 5th, and 6th place could be disqualified. Giving Hamilton 3 more points and the Championship.
Honestly, he is a great racer and I'd love to see him win the title sometime but not like this. Not when Raikkonen is finally learning how to show emotion and appear human.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63570
Lastly, Thank you Massa for allowing Raikkonen to be first. We all know you could of won your home track again but you proved that unlike others*coughalonsocough* you truely are a team player.
Posted by Mystee at 6:39 PM 0 comments
First....

Second....
Massa gave the championship to Kimi that is obvious. And I am not really complaining about that. They are a team and we know in the end teams are going to help each other.
Third....
Hamilton fucked up, twice. I can come to terms with that. He should have won last race but he didn't. In fact, unlike the rest of the season, Hamilton has done EVERYTHING HE POSSIBLY COULD TO LOSE THE TITLE THESE LAST TWO FUCKING RACES!!
Lastly....
Bye, bye Alonso you peckerless fuck
and
Hope after all, you Ferarri whores

Yay Massa!
I'm ecstatic to see Massa on pole for his home race. I didn't get the chance to watch qualifying however I have heard about the incident with Hamilton supposedly getting in Raikkonen's way... what happened there? Hamilton Appologizes but the stewards aren't looking into whether there was any blocking. I know no one wants to see Hamilton penalized but all the same Fair is fair.
Massa up front with Hamilton on his tail and Raikkonen pushing them all from third. But where is poor whiney Alonso? oh yes stuck back in 8th HaHa, and it appears he has given up hope of winning the Championship. Maybe it won't be the close race we all are hoping for..

Another fine?
I'll admit I don't know much about Formula One History but this year there has just been one incident after another. Sure it has provided for a much more entertaining season, however enough is enough. I'm curious - In the past has such drama been more discreet, allowing the teams to deal with things respectively? Is some of this drama fabricated/exagerated to boost ratings?

In the vein of Den's last post .. I wanted to pay tribute to the "good ole days" with this link. In the long and illustrious battle between Michael and Mika, this has to top any highlight reel that will ever be made.
To good racing!!

Big Blubbering Baby Tears

Big Blubbering Baby Tears
My friends and acquaintances know me as a diehard Ferrari fan, but above all I am a fan of the sport of F1. Several things this year however have made the series somewhat of a mockery, including the ongoing legal battles between Ferrari and Mclaren. I believe though, that this topic has had it's place in time and has already been hacked to death by analysis from countless individuals. Something else however has lodged itself in my head, and will not go away. Now, you may remember me mentioning in an earlier bit that this was in fact a "great season" of racing, and as far as the racing itself is concerned, this is true. With this said, our tasty little season cupcake is however continually having dogsh*t smeared on it, and I believe it has much to do with one individual.
It is this one man who consistently makes an ass out of himself by stopping at nothing to win his third championship title: Fernando Alonso, a damn good F1 pilot trapped in the body of an insipid, egotistical child. He blathers on about being treated unfairly, while openly robbing his teammate Lewis Hamilton of a final qualifying run that was most likely to beat his own. He points a finger at Hamilton when he alone makes the driving errors, then has no problem whatsoever brutally shunting him off of the track. After this Alonso saunters mightily into the pits and bribes his mechanics with a bonus to help dethrone Hamilton.
.
F1 can be a mean sport, I know that. Senna and Prost fought brutally as teammates in seasons past, but I have never heard this incessant whimpering. Forever my image of Alonso: A small minded, infant Spaniard beating his little fists on the floor, drooling, and straining to see through the snot and tears as the real "baby" of Formula 1 drives circles around him despite all efforts against it.
I can only imagine that if Alonso actually wins next week's championship how empty it should be for him. What good is a championship to anyone who must display such a lack of character secure it?
I love you Ferrari, and wish you the best next week, but I must say good luck to you as well, Lewis. Perhaps if you win we can finally relegate Alonso to where he would feel more comfortable: in a little peddle car squeaking around pit lane, trying to find another child to play with, or perhaps just steal his ice cream cone.
I have thoughfully kept my gay man-love for Audi out of this ( Thank you Q :-) )

I don't care if I can't get in. Didn't they go "invitation only" last year? I don't even care that the porn convention may not be there.

The Red Brazilian stays! (Silly Season prologue)
I've been taking notes about what to say regarding the upcoming silly season. That is always an amusing time of year for me .. musical chairs with billion dollar cars! It's also fun to try to match my interpretation of the driver skill to the team/car's ability.
However, this is hot off the presses and needs to be posted.
http://www.autosport.com/news/report.php/id/63353
The Scuderia's own THUNDER FROM DOWN UNDER is here to stay for another few years. I applaud the boys in red for this one. Massa has proven himself to be consistent over the years, even when pairing the great M. Schu! Granted, he has some mishaps this year, but who hasn't? And, he also keeps setting the bar higher and higher for himself. Now, there may be other factors involved .. time with the team, good deal on his contract, sleeping with Luca's daughter. But, I think they couldn't have made a better move with Massa.
As for the upcoming Silly Season rants .. I suppose it's no big surprise that we're all waiting to see if Alonso is going to return to Renault. Here's my take on it so far:
- Ralf is finally out of F1. I don't care what he says on his site or through his publicist. No one is going to sign him. I hear he's getting fitted for one of those nice SkyTV jackets too. But, I can't confirm it. Trulli? Haven't heard anything on him .. and frankly don't care. He's annoying, but at least he can lap at a decent speed. He'll stay. Open seat at Toyota.
- Fine .. I'll say it. Alonso is going to Renault. I hear the french give good head, but this confirms it. I'm all for a good blowjob, but Freddie - basing your driving career on it? C'mon dude! Hamilton is going nowhere. No arguement or comment. That is just fact. What would be nice would be to get Ron to put the LH-Fan Club online!! Why should he corner the market on shirts, hats and other such Lewis love. I've got a friend who would be glad to throw some money at that!! Open seat at McLaren.
- With Massa signed, I'll say Kimi is staying too. They spent too much time/money/effort getting that boy in a red suit. They'll give him another year. He certainly didn't fill Mike's shoes, but who can? (No Q .. he can't). Ferrari closed.
- Far be it from me to claim any insight on Frank Williams. That man makes about as much sense as an ovulating woman without any gauze ... in a wheelchair. Luckily, he's stayed to the shadows this year. Looking at him makes me want to give money to charity. As for his drivers, Rossberg has made no announcements, but he should stay. Wurtz has bowed out. Open seat at Williams.
- The BMW team has two solid drivers. Kubica is still growing as a driver. They won't want to lose him. I don't know why .. but there is ALWAYS a question about Heidfeld! That boy can't seem to sign a contract more than a year! I like him .. so I hope he stays. Possible but unlikely open seat at BMW.
- Reanault .. I guess I should have put this under McLaren. With Alonso coming back, someone has got to go. And, since Flavio is going to be using the knee pads with him, Fisi's little dude will be lonely and dry. Hmm .. sounds like his driving. Punt on Fisi and keep the Finn. He's out qualified and driven his "more experienced" teammate since Flavio put the smackdown on him earlier this year (rightfully so!). Renault closed.
- Honda. Man .. if anyone took it dirty, dry and angry this year, it's Jenson and Rubens. Nick Fry has *GOT* to be doing anything and everything to keep those two. Jenson could be fed up enough to move. Rubens .. too close to the team. Possible open seat at Honda.
- Red Bull has got two of my personal Dark Horses on the grid. As much as I publically defend David Coulthard, he needs to go. David, PLEASE, for the sake of your name and previous accolades, bow out and stick to the hotel business. I know, there's no such thing as enough money. And, the fame and circus has to be fun. But, you have to think of how you'll be written into history. Have some pride, man!! GREY IN YOUR BEARD!! Oh .. the humiliation! Mark Webber. He talks to damn much and doesn't drive enough. Will they stay?! Most likely .. just to continue to give me fuel for my drunken blatherings. Red Bull closed.
Who did I miss? Spyker and Aguri ... yea, that was intentional.

Honestly I wonder if there is a tad of the WWF here.
Hamilton almost perfectly fails to finish the last race? Thus setting the stage for a three driver run for the championship in the LAST RACE? Come on!
This is too perfect. Everyone know F1 has been struggling to find a broader audience. That they have bene labeled as boring and "unexciting" drivers. Kimi anyone?
This just has an odor of too perfectness. I even start to question the entire Alonso-Dennis-Lewis fiasco.

Here's to the Newest .. or the N00b!
Well said Den! Welcome to Q and his enthusiasm! Although, having some insight as to his choices, I'll write it off to beginners luck.
C'mon Q! You bet on the noobie! It was a good and solid bet. McLaren .. good team. Great history. Not going with the 2x WC .. gutsy! I applaud your enthusiasm! I welcome you to the fold!
Now .. as for the end!! Everything is at stake here! Feet will be harder on the gas. National, team and personal pride will be at hand. This is no ordinary race!! All bets are off! The gloves are tattered and chewed through! This may not be the 2000 season end, but it's as close as we've gotten since! If ever anyone is going to let emotions get the best of them .. now is the time! Here is where HEROES are made!! I so look forward to Sundays race! Let the best driver prevail!!
Wow! What a season! Not what I wanted, certainly not what I expected. But .. better than most! I look forward to what's to come!!
My glass is almost empty .. the elixer is taking its toll. Ahh - burbon! You salty devil!! I'll see you all at the meet!! May the best (Ferrari) prevail!!

A spiced splash and a handshake
As I watch the amber liquid leave this Captain Morgan bottle and cascade into the bottom of my pint glass, I reflect upon this great year of racing. A new star has come to light: Mr. Hamilton, who Q has chosen as his champion, and rightly so. More importantly, a new fan has embraced Formula One, which is not too common an occurance in the US presently. We welcome you wholeheartedly Q, and wish for many fun years of Sunday races to come.
So..... I have finished pouring my spiced rum, and although the impending thrust of Mclaren's fist stands poised and ready to violate the Ferrari vitals, I drink to Q and Hamilton both. Thanks for a great season.
It all comes down to next week friends. Let's hope it's a good one.
- Gonna try for 10pm at Joxers tonight for the A1 race at Brno.

I love me some rookie

So being a new fan to F1 racing I had to chose a team. At least that's what I thought. I should have known better than to just blindly chose because sure enough I started to feel a connection with a driver, not team, after the third race. Lewis Hamilton.
Now before everyone starts moaning I do know that seems obvious now. He's proven to be quite an ass kicker on the track. But back in the earlier races that was still uncertain. I admit I was "feeling it". The rookie taking on the pros. Usually that ends in disaster but not this time. It was a regular Hollywood movie in the end.
I look forward to his racing next season and hopefully a full career. And as I said at the beginning of this post. I am a Hamilton fan. Not A Merc, McLaren or anything else. Where ever Hamilton goes I go.
So here's to Lewis and his continued fisting of Ferrari!

NICEE!!
Thanks for the venue, Q! This ought to be fun .. especially after any kind of racing. I want to encourage everyone to blog after copious amounts of booze and watching any race!
Speaking of watching a race .. I think Den is showing the A1 race tonight at Joxers ..
