Anyone Surprised?

Sunday, March 30, 2008

Congrats to Pontiac and Paul Edwards for taking the checker at Homestead!

My Mustang boy held 3rd for a lap but then pushed too hard and spun. Still, nice seeing Amercian muscle taking victory from the Porsche's.

Apparently the "Milk and Cereal" thing is a You Tube fad.

A quick search of You Tube reveals that this is some original song by "G-Love" and here is the original video that started it all..so they say.

This still doesn't release Speed of his obvious love of all that is cock.

Does anyone wanna guess why Scott Speed Isn't In F-1 Anymore?

Ford finally lets go of Jag...hello TATA!

This is almost worthy of a what-the-f--- category.

Mclaren shows well despite crippling setbacks

Unfortunatley Massa got a bee in his bonnet and ended his own race prematurely in the gravel. Both Mclarens did finish, but given enough time, I could have finished the race in a pedal car.

When all was said and done, a red Ferrari, with all four wheels planted firmly on the tarmac crossed the finish line first. The race for the title is ON my friends.

McLaren takes 3rd and 5th and Ferrari couldn't keep both on track.

And another Ferrari sourced motor popped. I'm happy.

Teams blaming new unified ECU on car woes.

More Ferrari engines popping in practice Friday. Others up and quit. And more way-of-the-exploding-brakes.

The rumblings from the teams, according to SpeedTV, is the unified ECU all the teams are forced to use, is the culprit.

Think about...you've been tuning your car and developing the car with you're own ECU. Then in walks the MAN and yanks your ECU from your hands and gives you a new one. Says, "goodluck!" and walks off.

Engines are popping, brakes are dying, cars are simply turning off due to the lack of fine tuning and understanding of these new McLaren Electronics/Microsoft sourced ECUs.

Lets hope this gets settled soon and more teams get a fair chance at the checker.

Latest GT5 images include shots of the F1 car!

I apologize that they seem to only offer a Ferrari at the moment.

A comment about watching the races in HD...

The crashes. Oh my god. When they get the lens zoomed in tight on the replays of the crashes...it looks stunning. You can see every bolt and bit of carbon fiber shredding itself. Like you can reach out and grab a piece for a keepsake.

Ferrari apparently decided to sit the first one out. Including their engines.

Not a single Ferrari powered car finished the debut F1 race in Melbourne! To be fair the race didn't go well for most the teams. In the end only SIX cars actually saw the checker.

Bordouis's F1 debute was quite a show. I was stoked to see him end up in 4th but saddened that his Ferrari sourced motor popped only two laps from finish. That sucks.

I am thrilled of course at the first place finisher. Hamilton drove off to first early on and stayed there. He avoided all the carnage most the other drivers had to deal with. Including his team-mate. Kovi and Kimi were battling quite amazing there on the final laps. Then just as Kovi finally passed Kimi...something happened that allowed Kimi to pass only moments later. But only a lap later Kimi was out. His Ferrari...busted.

Maybe Ferrari would be better off trying another racing series....

Pole Pole Pole Pole...Hamilton.

N'uff said.

Okay more needs to be said. It was an EXCITING finish in Q3. Kubbie knocked Hammy off P1 even though he was throttle down and sideways through turn 12. Fricking amazing driving! But...BMW ended in P2 as Hamilton blasted through to P1 with mere 10ths to spare. Awesome!

...and for only the second time in his career...Alonso did not go to Q3. He's stuck in 16th I believe. HA HA HA. (there is a rumor Alonso will go to that red team that has a horse for a logo if he's not happy with the car Renault provides) YOU CAN HAVE HIM.

I really have to admit Torro Rosso (Red Bull) really may have a chance this season. Webber *was* doing really well and if not for a brake failure surely would have been on top as well. Both driver's have been damn fine thus far.

Oh and that's not a typo...there's only ONE Ferrari in the top pole. Kimi? Where are you? Your car broke...AGAIN? Aw, shame.

F1 QUALIFYING TONIGHT!!!

This is it....it has finally arrived....get your cocks warmed up. Hamilton did very well in practice, FYI. Massa...not so much.

Helmet...check...gloves...check...brake pads...check.

Track day approaches...only the start of F1 season is as exciting for me.

I cannot wait to tear it up in the desert. It's killing me...the wait...dammit.

Okay I know this is NASCAR but it's about TIRES.

NASCAR - CUP: Goodyear Fires Back - SPEEDtv.com

Goodyear just got a HUGE shit sandwich from a bunch of driver's this weekend. Especially from Tony Stewart. Seriously, read it, it's SCATHING.

I'm a Ford whore I know, but this is pissing me off!

I want to import Ford's from the U.K. Now why would I want that?

Well unless you've been living under a rock it's commonly known that Ford Europe makes better cars for their buyers than they do here. In fact it is quite baffling that with all of Fords troubles they continue to manufacture multiple versions and platforms of the same car for both here in the U.S. and the U.K.

The Focus is a prime example. Here in the USA we get the ancient and now ugly 1st Gen Focus platform. While in Europe they are on to the 3rd Gen platform which is stunning looking. For the small car class anyway. They get a full line up from budget Foci to fully track ready Foci. Here we get a mini sedan grocery getter. Even my dog won't get in it out of shame.

Ford U.K. also has the ever popular Mondeo platform which they did bring here for a while under the "Contour" badging. The Contour was one of the first Fords in a long time that showed die-hard Accord and Camry owners that Americans could make a decent car. There were some converts. Hell they even made a performance version in the SVT option. (just like they did for the Focus) But then Ford fucked everyone over when they yanked it from the states.

Just something to think about all you Ford loving hooligans out there.

I LOVE THIS TIME OF YEAR!

I was tickled pink to see my DVR "To Do" list filling up with all the racing this season.....F1....SCCA, Touring car and so on...YAY!!!! I LOVE IT! BRING IT ON!!!

I know .. I know .. I should lay off.

I mean, I have said enough about this already. But, just to punctuate my point (and yes, that means this will be the last post on this)

Some sadistic reporter talked to Ralf again ..

Check out the bottom of the post. Sounds a lot like a commentator to me!

Grid Bid?

With the onset of the new season I'm hearing lots of predictions etc. Someone also pointed me to this site - http://www.gridbids.com/index.php I beleive Gridbid is a fantasy F-1 game.. you get so many points and can try and predict who will end up where. I'm thinking it is kind of like Fantasy football for F-1. One week left until Melbourne!

Track Day coming soon! (finally)

So come this spring means it's track time again. F1 season is about to start up (which I will be enjoying in full HD on SpeedTVHD) but it's also time for fun runs around The Streets of Willow!

I cannot wait to see the times I can lay down in my Shelby GT. It has the full Ford Racing suspension pack on it, brake coolers, upgraded brake lines so all that should make for some serious fun.

I will hopefully have pics and maybe even some video to show after.

Silverstone releases plans for a face lift

Well, I suppose Bernie get's his way again! Silverstone has released these renderings of their plans to upgrade the pit and paddock complex. Best of luck to Damon on raising the GBP to get this done!

Click here for the Pitpass article.

Only because I've always wondered what it looked like

So .. THIS is what that weird wheel cover looks like!! Sorry Den, but I had to know. Can you tell I'm a little bored at work?

Man .. I can't wait for the season to start!!

Yea yea .. he's the "enemy". He's a McLaren driver and probably favored to take the championship this year.

All that aside .. I love his determination!!

Hamilton speaks on the 2008 season.

I just want it to start! Man, how lucky is Brad! He'll be there for the race!! In the immortal words of our Swiss friend .. "Bring it!"

So the USA has finally decided to license their own Top Gear...

I am already predicting EPIC FAIL...based on the host cast. I don't care if he's a "car guy". This is just not the voice and personality that will work. And what makes TG so good, as far as hosts, is the trio. The three personalities playing off each. It's Kirk, Spock and Bones.

I am even fearful American editors and writers won't "get it" as well. TG should just be brought over here as is AND same air dates. Instead of the season behind we get now on BBCA.
